Regen FAQs
Q: What is the solar technology in a Regen product?
A: We're currently using the more established technology in monocrystalline solar cells due to their higher efficiencies that allow us to generate more power in a small area. For future products we are exploring newer solar technologies, capitalizing on the lower costs and better efficiencies that they are just starting to deliver.
Q: Where are Regen products made?
A: Our products are made in China, where we take advantage of proximity to the suppliers for many of our raw materials and sub assemblies, minimizing the shipping energy required to bring all the components together.
Q: How much energy is required to produce our products
A: Like most products today, it takes considerable energy to mold, fabricate, and assemble. Unlike other products, we are paying back that energy from the moment you start using our products. Our products may be the first things you ever own that will actually have a positive carbon footprint during their life.
Q: How does 'Hybrid Power' work
A: Hybrid Power intelligently monitors the amount of power available from a Regen product's on-board battery, and the amount of power needed, and decides when to pull additional power from the wall allowing you to continue to have a great product experience while getting maximum use from whatever solar power you are able to collect.
Q: Where can I find Regen products
A: Currently our products are available only through our online store, but should soon be available in selected online and retail outlets.
ReNu FAQs
Q: How much power can a Renu panel produce
A: The amount of power the panel can generate is dependent on your location, weather, duration of time, and intensity of the solar energy it is exposed to. On a sunny day outside in the panel can produce over 15Wh of energy/day. Inside you are likely to produce around 3-8Wh depending on the amount of time the panel is in full sun and the filtering effects of your window glass.
Q: What products can I charge with the Renu panel
A: You can charge any device that is of capable downstream charging via a standard USB port. This includes many mobile phones, portable navigation devices, backup batteries, and portable lights.
Q: Can I use the Regen iPhone Dock to sync my iPhone with iTunes
A: Yes, this dock has all the same functionality that the Apple iPhone dock has, including audio output (to connect external speakers) and syncing with iTunes (when it is connected to you computer).
Q: Can I use more than 1 panel with a dock or other ReNu accessory
A: You can use multiple panels to increase the amount of energy you generate, easily swapping one for another to have one always charged and ready while the other is supplying power.
Q: How long will the batteries last
A: Our Lithium-Ion batteries are rated for 500 charge discharge cycles. The product is also designed to be serviced so a new battery can be installed when the old one is at the end of it's life.
Q: Can I use the Renu panel outside
A: The panel is designed to withstand long exposure to sun and moderately wet conditions, but is not recommended for use in wet weather, or to be left out overnight.
Q: How effective is the Renu panel under different lighting conditions
A: Direct sunlight is best, either outside or indoors. The panel will collect power from interior lights, but there is much less power available from these light sources especially fluorescent, LED or ambient light.
Reverb FAQs
Q: How much energy can a Reverb produce
A: The amount of power the ReVerb can generate is dependent on your location, weather, duration of time, and intensity of the solar energy it is exposed to. On a sunny day outside, it can produce over 75Wh of energy/day. Inside you are likely to produce around 9-25Wh depending on the amount of time the panel is in full sun and the filtering effects of your window glass.
Q: Audio specs for Reverb
A: We're still in the process tuning and testing these parameters, and will provide more information when we've confirmed the final system that lives up to our exacting standards.
